Garnet is popularily known as the birthstone for January. The red gemstone is one of the most common and widespread of all gems and can range in color. The red garnet is also symbolic of the second anniversary.

A green garnet, also know as tsvorite, is more rare than a red garnet due to the intense conditions needed for the gemstone to form. Like the tsvorite, demantoid garnet is geen but flashes brilliance through its high refractive index and dispersion rating. This beautiful stone is now considered one of the rarest colored gemstones and is usually found in small sizes.
