Our Designer Spotlight this month is Nova Scotia’s very own Amos Pewter!
Handcrafting designs in pewter since 1974, this designer is truly a hallmark of Atlantic Canada.
Whether jewellery, ornaments, home décor, or tableware, each piece from Amos Pewter is carefully finished by experienced artisans with an eye for perfection. Every collection from this designer has a story to tell, from icons of the Atlantic, delightful sea creatures, Celtic-inspired designs, and so much more. There is an Amos Pewter piece to suit every person and every occasion!

More than a wide range of beautiful pieces, Amos Pewter keeps the tradition of pewtersmithing alive. Every piece is handmade at every stage of the smithing process: artisans produce hand-drawn designs, create wax sculptures and spinning molds, pour molten pewter, and hand-finish each piece in a process that ensures excellence.
This pewtersmithing process is a time-honoured tradition that the artisans are proud to continue to use. At Amos Pewter, designers and craftspeople highlight the traditional skills and techniques used by pewter makers for decades. They are so dedicated to the process that they are the first workshop in Nova Scotia to become a member of the Réseau International des Économusées, which focusses on showcasing and preserving traditional methods of crafting.

The whole casting process, from drawing to polishing, continues to be done in a former boat-building shop and the neighbouring heritage building in Mahone Bay, N.S. Amos Pewter proudly creates innovative designs inspired by nature and the beautiful coastal setting of Nova Scotia, and thoughtfully crafts them into lasting pieces for your wardrobe, table, and home.
