Peter is the fourth-generation owner of Herbin Jewellers. He began working at the store in 1972 and brings his vast experience in custom design, repair, and appraisal to help clients with their jewellery needs. He completed studies in watchmaking at George Brown College in Toronto, and then studied watchmaking on scholarship for a year in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Peter picked up much of his jewellery repair knowledge from his father and he continued his training in diamond grading, jewellery repair, gemology, and custom jewellery in various courses and seminars.
Peter is passionate about contributing to his community. He was an active volunteer for the Town of Wolfville on various committees, serving on the Wolfville Business Development Corporation and other local and national organizations. Most recently, he served as Co-chair of Nomination Grand Pre, in their quest to designate the Landscape of Grand Pre a UNESCO world heritage site. When he finds a free moment, he enjoys hiking and biking along the valley’s many trails.
