OUR DESIGN PROCESS
1) PREPARATION
First, we ask that you assemble ideas about the piece you would like to create. This can be as simple as details you do and do not like in a piece of jewellery. If you have any jewellery you would like to redesign or stones you may wish to incorporate in the piece, gather them. Feel free to make sketches or find reference images to bring with to your appointment. If you do not have a clear idea of what you want, do not worry. We pride ourselves in taking the time to help you find the design that is right for you. 2) CONSULTATION
We begin our design process with an initial no obligation consultation with our design consultant. During this consultation, we will discuss your style, design preferences, images that you may have gathered, stone and metal options, and view visual examples. We will also discuss any existing jewellery that you would like to incorporate into your custom piece. The discussions had during the consultation will create a mutual understanding of what you are looking for and an idea on what the finished product may look like.
* If you are encouraged by your consultation, a non-refundable $150 deposit will allow us to work towards a computerized rendering, sketch, and final design. *
3) COLLABORATIVE DESIGN PROCESS
After your initial consultation, our design consultant will create a detailed sketch or rendered image for you to view. This process is meant to be collaborative, so communication, time, and understanding are very important. Our process ensures that both parties envision the same finished design, which allows us to fashion a piece that is just right for you.
4) PRICES AND QUOTES
Once a final design is settled, we will send the designs, details, and gemstones to our custom house, located in Montreal. A quote will then be provided from the custom house to have your custom piece created.
5) HAND-CRAFTING YOUR PIECE
Once you have approved the price/quote, it is at this time that a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to order your custom piece.
After the deposit is made, our custom house can send us a finalized rendered image of your piece. We will share this image with you to ensure all the details are in the right place. This is the last chance to make any desired changes to the design. Once approved, we require a signed “Approval to Proceed” form and “Stone Removal and Resetting” form, allowing us to proceed with the completion of the piece.
*The handcrafting of your custom piece can take 4 weeks or more. This time is necessary to ensure top quality craftsmanship. Please let us know during your consultation if you have a strict deadline.*
6) FINISHED PRODUCT
Upon completion, our custom house will send your hand-crafted piece to our store where it will be carefully inspected by our repair manager and design consultant. You will be contacted as soon as possible to view your new piece and take it home!
