APPRAISAL CLINICS

Herbin Jewellers offers Appraisal Clinics with Accredited Jewellery Appraiser and Graduate Gemologist, Lawrence Hartnett.

Accurate appraisals are important to have if your jewellery is ever lost, stolen or damaged. Your insurance company will refer to the appraisal document to settle the claim. An outdated appraisal could result in you being underinsured. We recommend updating your appraisals every three to five years. Whether it is an engagement ring you wear every day, or a piece you've just inherited from your grandmother's estate, we're ready to offer an appraisal for your security and peace of mind.

During our Appraisal Clinics, we offer sit in appointments with Mr. Hartnett while he inspects your piece. There is also the option to leave your piece and pick it up after the Appraisal Clinic.

Formal written appraisals will be sent out a few weeks after the clinic.

At this time, we are not offering sit in appointments due to Covid-19. We ask that you drop your piece(s) off before the appraisal date.

PRICE PER PIECE

$90 + HST

(A bridal set, including an engagement ring and wedding band, is considered one piece).

PRICE TO UPDATE OLD APPRAISAL

$80 + HST 

(This price only applies to past appraisals assessed by Lawrence Hartnett. If you would like to update an old appraisal not completed by Mr. Hartnett, the price will be $90+HST).

We would like to note that while these items are priceless to you, it is important to remember that the value of the precious metal and gems that comprise your fine jewellery is constantly changing due to market conditions. Gold, for instance, has seen its value double over the past 10 years.
